Hello Audacious Ones! It has occurred to me and so many of you that there are a lot of amazing women (and some lovely men :) in this community, and wouldn’t it be great to connect more? I’ve had big dreams of creating opportunities, holding space, bringing people together, etc. But this Master’s course is kicking my butt these days, so those plans are now on hold until I finish, sometime next fall.
But that doesn’t mean you all can’t start connecting on your own, and I’m happy to provide the space for the initial contacts. After someone (thank you, Lucinda!) prompted me in last week’s comments, I thought I could simply devote a discussion post to allowing you all to connect with each other.
Now seems like a time when we’re hungrier than ever for connection. So, what are you yearning for? A writers’ support group in your city or region? An online critique group in your time zone? A mother’s night out group? A feminist sci-fi book club? A menopause support group? An art museum outing club? A meditation group? Or simply a meetup group where you live?
Now, are you willing to make it happen? If so, share your vision below and see if others are eager for that too. Then figure out a way to connect either virtually (via Zoom or WhatsApp or whatever) or in person!
Make sure to share where you are and what time zone you’re in. Indicate if you have a preference for meeting online or in person. And I will leave it to you all to decide the logistics.
I claim no affiliation or responsibility. But the one thing I ask is that the groups focus on being supportive and nurturing. Let’s leave the politics and cultural divisions at the door and focus on what brings us together—our admiration of audacious women, our love of art and literature, our desire to live fully and expansively.
I cannot wait to see what grows out of this invitation!!!
NB: You can DM anyone on Substack, so you can share emails that way, without sharing them with the whole group. Here’s how.
Happy connecting!

I'd just like a couple of smart women to talk about books and menopause and life with. I'm in Jackson Heights, Queens. Everything cool happens in Brooklyn so I want to start something cool here!
I'm up for organising an in-person meetup in the South of England. I'm very near Brighton. It could easily be London and the South East.
Would it be helpful if somebody put this on a spreadsheet? Which since I suggested it could be me!
